This term, we were very lucky to visit Presentation Secondary School for their open day. The
class had a fantastic opportunity to experience a range of subjects including woodwork, art,
Home Economics, programming, science and PE. It was a wonderful chance to explore new
skills and get a taste of life in secondary school.
In SESE and Art, we explored the fascinating world of Ancient China. The children created
beautiful tea-stained drawings inspired by the Terracotta Army. We also celebrated St. Brigid by
learning about her life and incorporating Celtic knots into our artwork. Another engaging topic
this term was the impact of the Normans on Ireland, which sparked great interest and
discussion.
February was a special month as we focused on friendship and kindness. The class enjoyed
making friendship bracelets, taking part in buddy reading with younger students, and creating
thoughtful portrait drawings of one another.
Seachtain na Gaeilge was, as always, a highlight of the term. The whole school came together
for a lively céilí, with both students and teachers giving it their all!
A truly unforgettable achievement this term was our whole-school production of Matilda. For
many, it was our first time performing a musical on stage, and it was an enormous success. It
was a proud moment for everyone involved and showed us that, even as a small and growing
school, we are capable of achieving great things.
