Term 2 was a busy and exciting time in 4th class. Everyone has shown amazing teamwork and creativity across a range of activities. Here are some of the highlights:
Our World Awards Competition
This term, our pupils learned all about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and created fantastic posters for the Our World Awards Competition. They put a huge amount of thought and care into their work, and should be very proud of their efforts.
Abbie STEM Competition
Building on their knowledge of the SDGs, pupils led a brilliant Meat-Free Monday campaign as part of the Abbie STEM Competition. They designed a campaign for the whole school, created a recipe book, produced a poster and video, and delivered their message to the school community. Their hard work and enthusiasm were clear for all to see!
Visit to UCC – Food is Funky!
We had a fantastic day out at University College Cork, taking part in the Food is Funky Lab Experiment where pupils learned about the digestive system in a hands-on way. They also enjoyed a guided tour of the university, discovering its rich history — and were delighted to have their visit featured in The Echo newspaper!
Clasduv Garden Visit
Our visit to Clasduv Garden was another highlight, where pupils got the chance to plant sunflower seeds and learn more about the world of gardening. It was a lovely way to connect with nature and round off a busy term.
A huge well done to all for making Term 2 so memorable. We are looking forward to everything Term 3 will bring!
