We had a wonderfully busy and enjoyable first term in Senior Infants. The children embraced every activity with great enthusiasm and curiosity. During Aistear, we explored a wide range of exciting themes, including School, the Witches’ Den, the Café, and the Post Office. Each theme brought lots of opportunities for role-play, problem-solving, and imaginative thinking, and the children loved taking on different roles and working together.
We also spent time learning all about autumn and winter. From noticing changes in the weather to exploring colourful leaves and signs of the seasons, the children showed great interest in the world around them. Our outdoor lessons every Tuesday were a big highlight and gave us the chance to learn through movement, exploration, and nature.
A highlight of the term was STEN Week, especially learning about coding with Emil’s dad. More recently, we learned all about how Christmas is traditionally celebrated in Poland when Jan’s mum came to visit—this was a wonderful experience for everyone.
Our daily Ready, Set, Go Maths sessions have also been a big favourite. We really enjoyed the hands-on activities and working in different groups each day.
Overall, it has been a fantastic first term filled with learning, creativity, and fun. We look forward to even more adventures in the months ahead!
