What a fantastic and fun-filled Term 3 we’ve had in Second Class! This term, we’ve really embraced the outdoors and got our hands dirty with some gardening projects. We were lucky to visit the community garden, where we carefully potted sunflower plants to be planted in our school grounds – we have loved to see them grow and can’t wait to see them bloom! In our classroom, we’ve also been nurturing French beans, salad leaves, peas, and more sunflowers – we’ve become expert gardeners and loved checking on their progress each day. A big highlight this term was reading our very first school novel together during literacy! We didn’t just stop at reading – we created our very own picture books based on the story, complete with illustrations! We were so proud to share these books with some of the younger children in the school. Who knew we had so many talented authors and illustrators in our class? We also had the chance to host a school assembly, where we shared our learning about money from around the world. It was a great way to show off our knowledge and practice speaking in front of an audience – we impressed everyone with our confidence and facts! Of course, one of the biggest thrills of the term was our school tour to MTU for the Just4Fun camp. We really did bounce our socks off and enjoyed every moment of the activities and games. Active Week was another highlight – full of energy and smiles! We especially loved the playground disco, where we danced our hearts out, and cardio drumming, which got everyone moving in rhythm. Our School Sports Day was another fantastic event, where we explored GAA skills, ran races, played traditional playground games, and had great fun on the bouncy castle – not to mention the always-hilarious welly throwing competition! Looking back on this final term, it’s clear to see how much we’ve grown and matured – not just in our learning, but in the way we treat each other, work together, and take on new challenges. We’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved this year and are now ready and excited to take the next step – onward to 3rd Class!
