Every year the Student Council works behind the scenes to make our school a brighter and more inclusive place to be. February 2026 was a particulary soggy month but that thanks to the efforts of the Student Council’s initiative, ‘Friendhsip February’ they managed to bring all the warmth we all needed. The thoughtful creativity that went into the lovely friendship activities across the school truly brought brightness to those dreary days.
The children did not get to go out as much but they did have lovely buddy activities to look forward to, they created simple moments of connection and opportunities to mix, talk and build relationships beyond their own class groups. The activities included: friendship bracelet making, show and tell, buddy reading, yard games and friendship portraits.
We know that for some pupils, stepping outside familiar friendship circles can feel challenging, and that is exactly why this initiative is so valuable. Friendship February is about gently breaking down barriers, building confidence and helping children feel connected within the wider school community.
It was a real highlight of the year so far and a wonderful way to close out the winter months. Thank you to all the staff for your engagement and for supporting the children, we appreciate the time, energy and thoughtfulness that made it possible.
We truly appreciate the effort involved and hope this special tradition will continue in the years ahead.
