What a fantastic summer term we have had in First Class! The children have been busy learning, creating and exploring both inside and outside the classroom.

This term we visited Clashduv Community Garden. During our visit, the children enjoyed printing using natural materials, helping with weeding and sowing seeds. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about nature, gardening and caring for our environment.

In English, we explored poetry and procedural writing. We especially enjoyed making fresh lemonade together in the sunshine before using the experience to write our own procedural texts!

Some of our Science and Art lessons focused on wildflowers. We learned to identify a variety of common wildflowers, created informative wildflower fact files and produced beautiful dandelion-inspired artwork. We also planted sunflower seeds and enjoyed watching them grow throughout the term.

Our school tour was another memorable experience! We visited Blackrock Observatory, where we explored the wonders of space, learned about the planets and even built our own rockets. We then headed to Airtastic, where everyone had great fun bowling with their classmates. It was a fantastic day filled with lasting memories.

We are so proud of all the children for their enthusiasm, curiosity and hard work throughout the summer term!
