The children in First Class have settled into the school year wonderfully, with lots of exciting learning experiences already! This term, we’ve explored a variety of subjects that have sparked curiosity and creativity.
In SESE, we’ve been learning about homes in the past, discovering how people lived long ago and what their homes were like. A real highlight was our hair-raising static electricity experiments in science!
In Art, the children have been inspired by the vibrant works of Picasso and Yayoi Kusama, creating their own masterpieces with bold shapes and colours. Their creativity has truly shone through!
A very special part of our term has been writing letters to the wonderful people who help care for our school, from cleaners to caretakers to principals, as part of our Learn Together programme. The children were so excited to share their appreciation and connect with the wider school community.
As the seasons changed, we also explored the signs of autumn and winter, learning how nature shifts throughout the year. Our weekly Forest School lessons have been a big hit, where we’ve been getting outdoors to study native Irish animals, discovering more about the creatures that live around us.
It’s been a fantastic first term, full of fun learning, and we can’t wait to see what the next one brings!
