Here in South Lee we are fortunate enough to have our own school garden. Our beds are packed with corn, pumpkins, beans, blackberry and raspberry bushes as well as a whole host of beautiful flowers and plants. We are indebted to Jess, Otto’s Mom, for her stupendous effort in putting the project together. She has put in hours of hard work researching and selecting plants, planting, digging and planning the garden. We appreciate Marie’s time working with the children also. The children have really benefited from the opportunity to be part of such a project, thriving on the responsibility to care for and tend to, the plants. The children take such pride in being able to produce and eat their own foods.
