Junior Infants were very busy throughout the month of April where we explored the theme of Outer Space. During Aistear we travelled to space in our rocket ship, collected moon rockets, fought of alien invasions and repaired satellites. We also constructed various different types of rocket ships, wrote packing lists for space journeys, made solar system jigsaw puzzles and played space themed maths games. In Science and Geography we learnt all about the planets in our solar system, how night and day are created and all about shadows. We even made our own space themed puppets. In art, we made our very own underpants inspired by the book ‘Alien Love Underpants’ by Claire Freeman, experimented with printing techniques to create the solar system and even made some very crazy aliens out of clay.
