Every year our school organizes a super fun and energetic Active Week. In 2021 for our Active Week we organized a whole timetable of events. Every morning before school we completed a morning movement activity as a whole school activity on the astroturf including mile with a smile, circuits, tug o war challenge, parachute games and a Zumba class. We completed a daily activity which included a visit from an athletics coach, a football coach, an outdoor yoga session and team work activities. The teachers swapped traditional homework with an active grid of activities. Each day, a challenge was set for the children to complete at home with their families. We used a Padlet page to outline the activities, challenges and schedule with parents. We also used Seesaw to offer the children the opportunity to send in any pictures or videos of them completing these activities at home, which was an excellent way to acknowledge their hard work at home in school. The highlight of the week was a whole school Sports Day, when the children got the chance to try out a range of fun activities and sports stations. The week was topped off with a medal presentation ceremony.
